Amy was born in Moberly, Missouri, with a heart for art at a young age. Amy discovered she loved to do art, especially in high school, and after graduation in 1987, she pursued an art degree at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD, graduating with a B.F.A. in 1991.
On this website you will find landscapes, flowers, portraits, large abstract paintings, charcoal and ink drawings. Amy’s work is about healing within, a way to search for love, as well as sharing it with others in order to encourage them to do the same. You will see some pieces hang all four ways to reflect contradicting perspectives. Family, marriage, and love are themes in her work. She finds comfort, forgiveness, and healing moments through her own circumstances while she paints.
A love that heals finds her year after year, not only as she searches in the fluid lines, bright colors, and abstract shapes, but also in music as she dances in the kitchen with her dogs, feeling their unconditional love.
Amy’s hope as an artist is to encourage others to find love in their heart and let it flow through their life to share with others. A language of love can spread like wildfire as long as we have the source flowing freely in our minds. She feels that with determination and faith it can be done.
